2025 Mid-Year Market & Trends Report
Mid-year report provides an evidence-based assessment of conditions in Alberta’s private passenger vehicle auto insurance market, with a focus on affordability, accessibility, competition, and market sustainability.
Compensation Disclosure 2020-2025
This is a requirement under the Public Sector Compensation Transparency Act. The postings are required by June 30 each year and will be maintained for five years.
Annual Review 2025
The AIRB’s 2025 Annual Review process was to analyze industry loss experience for PPV to establish industry benchmarks to assess insurance companies’ PPV rate filings for basic and additional coverage. The AIRB consulted with interested stakeholders as part of its Annual Review. The Open Meeting was held through a webinar on August 14, 2025.

Return of Excess Premiums
Every private passenger vehicle insurer must complete the AIRB’s profit and loss report template. This will be applied prospectively, commencing with 2024 accident year results reported in 2025. Insurers will only be required to return excess premiums in the most recent accident year.
